When you are inviting a few guests to dinner or a small, intimate party during the course of your day-to-day social interactions in Johannesburg, you’ll probably do so at home, where you may do your own catering or hire professional caterers to see to meals, snacks and refreshments.
However, when you’re hosting larger numbers of guests for a really special occasion, event, function, product launch, award ceremony, year-end celebration, conference or business meeting, it makes sense to hire a venue away from home or the place of business. At Thaba Eco Hotel, 5-star accommodation in more than 50 exquisitely appointed suites is available for guests who wish to stay over, once proceedings have concluded.

Firstly, guests typically enjoy going to an outside venue, where neither they nor the hosts are required to lift a finger; all their needs are seen to by the venue and its professionally trained staff members, who perform their services in a timely manner. Everyone is relaxed and ready to socialise, mingle or attend to business matters.

Our venues, which prove popular for events and conferences, consist of the Lobola Hall and Deck, the Lobola Deck only, and the Tswana Hall for the former occasions. There are three Conference Kraals, an Executive Boardroom, Conference Boma and Wi-Fi Boma to accommodate business meetings, conferences, seminars and workshops.
For really large events and functions, our exclusive and sophisticated white marquee may be hired. It will be erected on site in one of our lovely landscaped garden areas. Our Fire Kraal bar is an ideal venue for Bachelor/Bachelorette parties, smaller, more intimate birthday parties, family gatherings and informal corporate gatherings, such as the more social aspect of corporate team building.
If required, our standard décor items and elements may be used in larger venues for hire, or hosts may provide their own if they desire a specific theme, colour scheme or ambience. Our different venues’ design is such that various décor styles display beautifully within the interior spaces of each one.
Our main restaurant is known as the Kraal Restaurant, where freshly prepared, good food is lovingly prepared by our resident chef; meals, wines and beverages are attentively served by our friendly, helpful teams of serving assistants. The same standard of dining, refreshments and serving is provided in the venue that you select for you do.
Our diners are treated to seasonal fresh produce from our own organic vegetable gardens. Because we’re as “green” as possible, all our efforts are directed to this end in each aspect of our operation. Other green endeavours that we pursue include:

- Minimising our carbon footprint and impact on the natural environment.
