Heritage Day in South Africa is more than just a public holiday — it’s about gathering, sharing traditions, and celebrating the richness of our culture. It’s no wonder the day is fondly known as Braai Day. And at Kraal Gardens, Thaba Eco Hotel, we’re giving it our own cheeky twist: Braai the Beloved Country!

Nothing says Heritage (or Braai) Day quite like smoky coals and good company. This year, we’ve created the ultimate Braai Basket feast so you can enjoy all the flavour with none of the fuss — bring the whole family, kick back in the gardens, and let us do the hard part.

How it works:

• On arrival, your table receives a basket packed with salads, sides and desserts.
• You’ll also get an extra basket to hand over to the chef, who’ll dish up your meat hot off the braai — sizzling and smoky, just the way it should be.
• R660 per adult or R1,980 per basket — feeds 4 adults.
• Little ones eat free — every child gets a boerewors roll and a slush puppy on the house. (Children under 12 years old; 12yrs+ counted as an adult. One child per every full paying adult, additional children charged at R115 per child).
