On Saturday, 9 August 2025, we’re honouring Women’s Day with a curated Golden Picnic Basket experience. Designed for groups of four to six guests, each basket is brimming with seasonal produce, artisan fare, and handcrafted treats — perfect for sharing alfresco-style under the African sky in the Kraal Gardens.
From the moment you arrive, the atmosphere is set with a chilled glass of bubbly, a live DJ, and plenty of Insta-worthy moments, all in the tranquil surrounds of Thaba Eco Hotel.
What’s in the Golden Picnic Basket?
Every Golden Picnic Basket is carefully curated to delight the senses and offer a full, leisurely dining experience in nature. Here’s what you can expect:
- A Toast to Begin: A complimentary glass of bubbly on arrival
- Fresh & Fruity: white and green grapes, chocolate-dipped strawberries and dried mixed fruit
- Cured & Crafted: Salami, pastrami, prosciutto, biltong and drywors
- Cheeses & Condiments: brie and blue rock, Indezi cheese selection with preserves, snack-time biscuits, basil and peppadew pesto dips, marinated olives and Greek feta, baby dill cucumbers and grilled halloumi salad.
- Savoury Highlights: bagels with smoked salmon and cream cheese, parmesan-crusted chicken strips, BBQ-basted chicken wings, crisp chicken rissoles and lamb pinwheels.
- Sweet Endings: cashew brownies, Ferrero Rocher and stroopwafels.
